About the event
Looking for a trail run that benefits Veterans and First Responders that serve our communities and has minimal sweat? You’ve found it! RUN BIG LAND Toughness GROOVE Trail Race is a 10.7K-ish (see what we did there?!) trail race in Montross, Virginia. Proceeds benefit the 501c3 nonprofit 10-7 at Big Land! You will follow forested trails and farm roads experiencing some challenging up and down hills for an elevation gain between 1,500 to 2,000 feet. You'll even get a chance to run past the train caboose aid station and enjoy a shot of Fire Ball to warm you up! This is a tough trail so those trail shoes are definitely recommended and if you're thinking about trail poles it's not a bad idea.
Be prepared for the best top finisher awards! But if you aren’t them, you're going to get some prizes too. The "Dirty Beaver Award" is our best award, and your opportunity to rock that mud you picked up on the trail! A piece of Biggy B advice, don't wear your nice clothes!
Lets talk about swag! We don't want to toot our own horn, Ok, yes we do, our swag is the best swag around! We have bags of coffee, stickers and more!
Our first annual trail run in 2022 was epic! We are so happy you will be joining us because you do not want to miss this Party!
100% of the proceeds go to projects at 10-7 at Big Land (www.ten7bigland.com) benefiting the making of memories and moments for our veterans and first responders and those who have served our nation's communities. For example, building an ADA compliant cabin for our disabled members and building out our train caboose into a tiny home stay! All are free of charge to those whom have served.
